UK Craft Magazines!

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

My absolute favourite craft magazines come from the United Kingdom.  Back during my cross-stitching days I loved Cross-Stitch Crazy. Then I became more interested in paper crafts and found PaperCraft Inspirations and Cardmaking & Papercraft. The size of them, for one thing, is great. Even though they're only about 2 inches taller than an averaged-size magazine, they seem to be able fit twice as much in!  They're kind of expensive (usually about $13 here in Canada) but it's worth it...you know why?  Because, they come with freebies.  A set of stamps, a booklet of papers, fun flock, and an embosser are just some of the things I've gotten in the past. I love these magazines! To borrow a phrase from my favourite British craft writers - they're just FAB! Check out the free Christmas paper downloads from PaperCraft Inspirations here.

  1. I used to get these magazines when I lived in the UK. I am a Brit but live in NY now. I have a few cross stitch magazines and I love the patterns. (I am working on Scooby Doo right now) $13 is a lot for a magazine. I am hoping to go back in April so I might pick up a few then. We could figure out exchange rates and shipping and see if it's worth me picking some up some for you and shipping. Have you checked Ebay for people selling there old copies?

  2. No, I haven't! Great idea although they probably wouldn't pass on their freebies...
Still, it would be worth it for all the pictures, patterns, & inspirations. I'm off to check it out!
