Saturday Afternoon Project

I found a nice wooden storage box at Value Village for only $3.99.  It was in perfect condition and exactly what I need to store the reams of baker's twine I have stashed around my room.

The box was a blank canvas - ready to be painted!  I started by choosing some pretty polka-dot patterned paper to use for the fronts of the two drawers.  I traced the outline of the drawers onto the paper - no measuring needed!  So easy!  I cut the paper and used clear glue to decoupage the paper onto the drawers.  While the drawers were drying, I started to paint the rest of the box.

I used 'Cloud' by Martha Stewart.  It's such a soft, calm blue-green colour.  I did 2 coats.  Once everything was dry, I slid the drawers back into the box and filled it up with baker's twine!
